About

Welcome to ITRadio.com.au! IT journalist Patrick Gray set up this site to provide radio-quality news and current affairs audio programming to busy IT professionals.

You can listen to our weekly programs here on the site, download them as MP3s, or subscribe to our free content via RSS or iTunes.

We’ve launched three shows, Risky Business, the weekly IT security podcast, A Series of Tubes, the networking and systems integration podcast, and Smart Call with Simon Sharwood.

All programs are presented by professional journalists, not amateur podcasters.

ITRadio.com.au’s journalists are:

Patrick Gray

Patrick Gray is the founder of ITRadio.com.au and a freelance journalist specialising in IT security. He regularly contributes to the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers and ZDNet Australia.

In the past, Gray has written for SecurityFocus.com, Wired.com, BusinessWeek (US), APC Magazine, Atomic, Silicon.com and more. Patrick currently acts as consulting editor to the SearchSecurity.com.au Web-site. He has won five awards since 2003, including the Consensus Best News Writer award (twice running) and Best Investigative Writer award.

He holds an honours degree in electronics engineering from RMIT University. Patrick also has experience working in radio broadcasting, both at a community station in Melbourne and for ABC NewsRadio in Sydney, where he contributed to the NetNews show.

Patrick produces and hosts Risky Business, the weekly IT security podcast.

Simon Sharwood

Award winning journalist Simon Sharwood joined the ITRadio team in November 2007. He hosts the Smart Call podcast — a show just for call and contact centre managers.
